What is Alpha ?

The Alpha course is an opportunity for anyone to explore the Christian faith in a relaxed, non-threatening manner over a number of thought-provoking weekly sessions.

It's low key, friendly and fun and it's supported by all the main Christian denominations.

You may already know something about it if you saw any of the 10-part ITV television documentary in 2001. More than 2 million people in the UK and 8 million worldwide have found it a worthwhile experience.

So join us on a journey of discovery.

What's Involved ?

The Alpha course typically starts with a shared meal providing an opportunity for people to get to know each other. This is followed by an Alpha video or short talk and then by small group discussion where people are encouraged to comment on what they have seen and heard.
The subject of the main talk or video addresses a basic question concerning Christianity, questions such as " Who is Jesus?", "Why did He die?" and " Why and how do I pray? ".
Listen, learn, discuss and discover. And ask anything.

Alpha is a place where no question is too simple or too hostile.

As you will find from visiting the national Alpha website, there may also be other local churches that are running courses in the near future.
