The
phrase tools not trophies is a phrase I have used before. If we talk about
being filled with the Holy Spirit or being a renewed or Charismatic church,
does that mean we need to be dependent upon the Holy Spirit for empowerment
and resourcing in our daily lives? What is the function of
the Holy Spirit? Eph

service, so that the body of Christ may be built up 13 until we all reach unity in the faith and in
the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole
measure of the fullness of Christ. Who is the Holy Spirit?

gifts give to the church. There are
other gifts and ministries to be found throughout the Bible e.g. Ex 31: 1
6. It might be helpful to think of the gifts in three kinds
of categories or giftings that compliment each other. The gifts are not
static, in other words gifts or giftings might be given from any or more than
one of the categories e.g. you might be a discerning hospitable prophet.
Gifts are not always given for life but are functional. They are for a
purpose or a ministry. Holy
Spirit: three kinds of gifting: 1. Communication:
. Teaching, prophecy, tongues,
interpretation, wisdom
2. Change
(by intervention):
. Knowledge, discernment, faith, leadership, service,
healing, miracles 3. Connection: Lego bricks
. Pastoring, hospitality, administration, mercy, encouragement.How

and praying for each other that you are refilled (We are like sieves - we
leak!! So we need to be refilled day by day)
