Vacancy details for the position of Vicar.
Posted April 2008
The parish of All Saints Thorpe Acre with Dishley is looking for an inspirational, imaginative and enthusiastic leader, who has the experience and energy to enable God's vision for this place. We need someone who recognises the importance of small groups in a healthy church and who will re-envision, re-invigorate and continue to grow the vision for Cell within the Church. We are an active open evangelical church which caters for all ages and offers a variety of styles of worship. We have a number of cell groups, a small church plant, and a staff team which includes an administrator, youth worker, pastoral assistant and "house for duty" priest.
The parish is looking for a priest who will:
- Be an experienced spiritual leader, a person of prayer and faith who, knowing their own need of God, is able to lead others to a fuller knowledge of God.
- Be a good teacher, trainer and communicator with the ability to listen.
- Be someone with a vision for the church who can think strategically, help us set priorities and can lead the Church in its evangelical mission.
- Be someone who works at growing an environment in which people can develop the mission of the Church whilst being able to take risks in a supporting gracious environment.
- Be an inspiring motivator, with the ability and confidence to empower others.
- Be a person who encourages and nurtures a sense of family, love and acceptance.
- Be someone who will work at developing and releasing gifts of the Spirit and who expects gifts of the Spirit to be expressed both in the services and at other times and places.
