At a Church meeting in January 2002,
John Andrews, from The Church
of the Martyrs in Leicester, spoke about appropriate Christian
responses to issues of justice in the world today.
One of the things John mentioned was Justice
Mail. This is an e-mail news service run by The Church of the Martyrs
in Leicester. It is aimed at busy people who care about
issues of justice but who haven't got time to follow up the all of the many
appeals and campaigns that can be found on the Internet. It gives people a
chance to make a small but effective contribution by such things as writing
a letter or signing a petition.
People who join the scheme receive one e-mail each week detailing a justice
issue and asking them to send an e-mail, sign a petition or write a letter
along with everyone else who has joined Justice
Mail.
Go on! Get involved! Find out how to join by clicking on Justice
Mail. Each time you receive an e-mail you can choose whether or not to
respond. You can remove you name from the list at any time.

Amos in the Bible speaks a lot
about God's dislike of people who appear to be religious but who do not
have a heart for justice. At one point the Lord told Israel that he despised some of their religious
practices. Instead he says let justice roll on like a river,
righteousness like a never-failing stream.
Amos 5:24
