Members Of Our Congregation Linked With Overseas Mission

All Christians are involved with mission in one way or another. Surely we should all be working together with God in his mission of redeeming the world, bringing sinners back into a living relationship with him? After all we only became Christians because someone told us the good news about how we can be forgiven and can find new life in Christ.

For some of us our mission field is those we meet as we carry out our daily work at home, in the community or at places of employment. However, some people in our church have more of a daily focus on mission in the UK or overseas. Here are some details about people in our church who have close links to overseas mission. Some of them have provided ideas for ways in which you can pray for them.

Margaret and Roger Stevens
Roger and Margaret are involved with Teso Development Trust (TDT), which assists relief, rehabilitation and development in Teso in Uganda by co-operating with churches and other organisations. See Roger or Margaret for copies of the latest TDT newsletter or visit the TDT website. Margaret sometimes runs training workshops in Teso for Church leaders and members. As a Church we identify with the suffering of many people in the north of Uganda because of the unrest there. From time to time we host visitors from that part of Uganda
Keith Munro has been involved in visits to Sliven in central Bulgaria for over 10 years. He does this work in conjunction with Krasif Aid With the help of some of the townwide youth leaders, local young people carry out evangelism with Sliven Baptist Church and practical work at an orphanage in nearby Kerman. Most recently (July 2007) Keith was accompanied by four of our young people for a two week visit and he is presently organising a trip which will include some of our young people for this July (2008).
