Persecution of Christians
As a church we have a particular concern for Christians that are being persecuted around the world. Our past involvement with Sudan through Joseph and Karin Ayok-Loewenberg and links with Margaret and other Sudanese refugees in the UK has meant that we always look for news from Sudan. Our long involvement with Arab World Ministries has meant that we are well aware of the restrictions imposed on Christians in many Muslim countries.
The Bible encourages us to be concerned like this:
Remember those in prison as if you
were their fellow-prisoners, and those who are ill treated as if you
yourselves were suffering. Hebrews 13:3
We use various means of sharing news of persecuted Christians. We get much of it from the Barnabas Fund and Open Doors newsletters and publications. Please visit their web-sites for the very latest details.
Another web site giving information on the persecuted church is the Jubilee Campaign.
Please visit the above-mentioned web sites for details that can help you pray in an informed way. We have a few ideas on the Current Prayer Topics page on this web site.
